UNN's Suspended SUG President, DOS Reinstated

By Kelechukwu Iruoma,
Editor in Chief,
Roar Newsletter

Suspended Nsukka branch President of the Students Union Government,
Comrade Peter Ekene Orji (Pedro) and Director of Socials, Comr.
Ugwuoju Henry, of the University of Nigeria have been reinstated by
the House of Representives members.

The reinstatement was announced at a sitting of the House after the
panel formed to investigate the alleged misconduct and financial
misappropriation labelled against the comrades submitted their
findings and reports.

The comrades who were suspended for over two months have now gone back
to work and have begun activities and projects that would unite,
srengthen and move the Union forward.

A SUCCESS WISH FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK

To many, success seems to come suddenly. When you observe others and
what they have achieved you usually don't appreciate what it has taken
for them to get where they are. Ultimately, in failing to do this you
also fail to learn what it would take for you to attain the same level
of achievement and success.

But, if you take the time to truly think about it, you will find that
success is usually only a small step away. Yet despite that it eludes
most people. It is always so near and yet so far. Let me illustrate
what I mean with a short story.

A lesson from military school

As part of our military training in the air force we were given a very
demanding assignment.

SEASON OF REVIVAL: DAY 2

SEASON OF REVIVAL is a program organized by the Joint Christian Body (JCB), University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
My sincere apoligies I could not bring you reports from Day One. However, here is the report of what happened on the second day at Freedom Square, University of Nigeria, Nsukka Campus.

Day Two: Saturday, July 18th, 2015.

Highlights of the programme are as follows:

Bro. Nnamdi Phillip, Mobilization Minister of Capro Calvary Ministries, introduced Capro Calvary Ministries as a mission body founded to reach the unreached, and to bridge the barriers created by denominational and doctrinal differences. According to him, Capro advises you to put your church and your doctrine aside and present ONLY CHRIST.
The body was also founded to reach specifically to the muslims and to ensure the survival of Christianity in Nigeria.
Meeting day for the body is Second Saturday of Every Month @ Christ Church Chapel by 10am.

This was followed by a drama session by the Cedars Ministries titled The Transformed Benson Lodge, then a remix of Break Every Chain by Vee-Jay featuring Nwabu Ngozi.

Dr. Pamela Ezeuzomaka took to the stage for the ministration and began with a session of ground-breaking worship songs.
She spoke on THE SPIRIT OF GRACE AND TRUTH recounting her days on campus as a student when she lived a normal good life but had never met Christ. She decided to seek whatever it was that made her feel she was missing something. Her hunger for God continued to drive her while unknown to her, her friend in Benin gathered people with whom she was praying for her. Her encounter with God was quite a unique as God revealed Himself to her in an awesome way. Details of the encounter is one aspect of the meeting I will not spell out here. Sorry if you missed it.
God wants a relationship with people. The only reason He created humans is to have a relationship with humans. His aim is not to have some robots who will see him as a master but men and women who will relate with Him as friends do. From the foundation of the world, He planned the redemption of the world through the death of Christ once and for all. The truth of the matter is that you are a new creature; a new specie born into the new testament of God's love and glory.
When we are so sin-conscious, we can never be useful to God. God's primary purpose for making man is relationship. Satan has desired to separate us from God by making us feel unworthy, and so stay away from God.
Romans 1:16-17; Galatians 1:6-8; John 1:14, 17; John 16:8; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; Eph. 2:7-9
The gospel of Christ is the power of salvation unto whoever believes. This gospel is your power against the devil, sickness, calamity, failure, etc. It is the power that accomplishes everything. That gospel is that the grace of God has given you everything that God is, that God has, and that God possesses. These things are received ONLY BY FAITH and you must enforce it into your life before it becomes effective. Rely on the grace of God, and your life and those of the people in your life will take of for greater height.
A life that does not have grace on it has grasses. That kind of life will be so low that others around you will not want to listen you when you come with the gospel. You must stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has set you free and be no more bound by the bondage of the enemy. Those who have moved from the gospel of Christ unto another gospel are perverting the gospel of Christ. The gospel of Christ is the same as the gospel of grace. In this gospel of Christ, the righteousness of God is revealed. Righteousness will make you able to fellowship with God without any fear of rebuke from God. When there is sin in your life, all you need to do is TURN ON THE LIGHT. Many people think that you have to clean yourself before you receive the Holy Spirit without knowing that it is the Holy Spirit that does the cleansing when you have received Him.
God is not inputing trespasses on people, so for you to preach Christ, you do not go about inputing trespasses on people. God wants you to come to Him, it is then He will wash away your sins. He does not expect you to cleanse yourself before approaching Him. It is not about how long you pray, how long you fast or how long your dress is, these are not the main thing. The gospel of Christ is a gift.
Salvation is:
Eternal Life
Divine Healing
Deliverance
Divine Provision
Holy Spirit
Divine Protection
You are justified by Faith and u have Peace. Rom. 5:1, 8.
The Spirit has been given to help us carry the work of revival. God knows it is not possible to do His work without the grace of God. We need a supernatural language, power and grace. He that believes, according to John 7:38, shall have rivers of living water flow out of his belly. God also gives His Spirit for use in the circular world, in business, career, etc.
The greatest mistake you can ever make in life is to ignore the Holy Spirit. It is He who reveals the things in the mind of God, and He is the one who will show you all things. Maintain a good relationship with God. That is all that is needed to live your life as a Christian.

The program ended for the day with a prayer session. The final round is set to hold tomorrow, Sunday, July 18th, 2015 at Ekpo Convocation Arena, University of Nigeria, Nsukka at 1:00pm.

As Rt. Hon. Nwancha Precious Turns +1

Coming into UNN, I had in mind to be the best I can, academically though for that was all I knew about campus life. Gradually responsibilities began to creep in and it became obvious I was going to have another pursuit added to my academics, that is politics. In the process of making up my mind and working towards that ambition, I met this young man for whom I write this update.
Mr. Speaker, as I called him then for he was the Speaker, House of Representatives, SUG, UNN (2014/2015) stands tall in appearance, integrity and leadership. Before my foray into politics, I never knew any of the SUG officials as they never mattered to me, afterall, how does that add to my G.P? But meeting him was an eye-opener into what has been happening in his government, how maturedly the House had handled of irregularities and allegations during his time, how he had upheld his integrity and values in his days in office, and how their decisions had affected the lives of students, directly and indirectly. Coming from him, they seemed like the normal politician's way of blowing their trumpets. But then I decided to stick close a bit longer, and I found out it was much more than praise singing.
His leadership prowess in and out of government continues to speak for him. He has been, and is still an encouragement to many students on campus, a role model indeed who is eager to ensure the spiritual, physical and moral wellbeing of those those who look up to him by standing for truth and justice whenever the need arises. So many things come to mind as I think about my many encounters with him, so many I will bore my readers if I go articulating them. However, some remain outstanding, and this write-up will be incomplete if I do not speak of his commitment and passion for the revival and survival of the Union in particular, the Igbo Nation and the Nigeria Youths in general.
Today we celebrate a man of humble disposition, a Lion that stands out in influence, honour and dignity, a rare gift to our world and our generation.
As the Lord adds a year to you today, may He also add with it many more opportunities to affect lives for good, many more years of greater glory and may He make you to stand before kings and not before obscure men.
Lions and Lionesses celebrate you!
SUG, UNN celebrates you!!
Okeke Chibueze celebrates you!!!
Happy Birthday Presh. Ad multos annos.
