IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR UNN DIRECT ENTRY APPLICANTS

OFFICE OF THE INFORMATION OFFICER
STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT
UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR UNN DIRECT ENTRY APPLICANTS

First, I must acknowledge the efforts of the Electronic Information Manager, Comr. Ada Monique and her able and ever vibrant assistant, Comr. Ezeoke Stanley Sympathy. Owing to their untiring efforts, I have made less posts and answered less calls in the past months. May God bless you two and the other members of the Information Crew, 2016/2017.

I decided to do this myself for no other reason but to clear the air on some misconceptions.
The usual thing about Direct Entry is that you apply to your choice university through JAMB. This application opens immediately after the usual application for UTME. For the forthcoming academic session, the application was in February, 2016. Those who applied will know what I mean. If you did and chose UNN as your choice university, then read on, if not, please note that there is only one option for you - applying next year.
For those that applied to UNN through JAMB, please read carefully. In the course of sending lists to various universities for admission consideration, JAMB also sends the list of DE applicants. Thus, it is most likely your names have been sent to UNN and so you need no further application to UNN.
The question now is WHAT NEXT?
The university is meant to conduct an oral interview for DE applicants but it is not always like that. From records, last two years (2014/2015) was the last time UNN conducted oral or any other form of screening for DE applicants before admission. Last year their names only came out in the course of publishing admission lists. Considering the calendar for the next academic session, there is high probability that there will be none this year either. However, if the university decides otherwise, rest assured we will inform you promptly.

Thus, if you have applied to UNN through JAMB's DE application, please reduce the pressure you mount on yourself and others. The university has not said anything about your case, and when it is decided, we will let you know.

Here is a wish of successful admission from we all at the INFORMATION OFFICE, STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT, UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA

Latest news 2016/2017 UNN PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Hello to you all.
Last week or so. I gave a rundown of some of the fees you guys should be planning .

First of all, let me make something clear.
The school fees schedule I shared in my last post was last session's,  this new session's own is not out yet, that one I dared was to give you guys an idea of what you should be budgeting,it is always advisable you budget more.
There is every probability that laptop will be compulsory this year and there's also every probability it won't be compulsory.  I brought the compulsion of the laptop issue to your notice so it won't come up as a surprise. It is better you prepare for it and they don't make it compulsory than you don't prepare for it and all of a sudden you see. So I will advise you be wise and prepare!

Please when a post is made, try to read, understand and avoid repetition of questions. When I don't reply such questions, the next thing some will say is am a snub. Choi!

Anyway, after the merit list comes out, shopping/supplementary advert form will be out, if you need assistance in getting it, contact me via inbox or call me on 07064439433. By the way, hope you know I got my commission if I am to help, so please don't come meeting me, thinking I will do it the exact money it is sold. This is my time, resource, and energy am putting in it,I have been helping out the past people the way I can and I don't think anyone could come up and say I have eaten the person's money without purchasing the form for the person :-) . I also help out in other services I can.

Success to you all.  Sit back, relax and wait for the merit list to come out. Even if someone tell you he or she is a sibling or child to the VC, don't believe any particular date the person gives you concerning the list till it comes out.  This is because maybe it is suppose to come out on the 30th of August, something might delay it and it won't come out that day, this can dash your hope and make you more tensed. Most of you that call me to ask when the list will be out, I usually tell you guys the time range I think or I tell you I don't really know, It is better that way.

The fees I gave about off-campus, please note that Enugu also got offcampus lodges and some of their lodges fees are higher than that of nsukka's. Take note please.

Most of the departmental cutoffs are out, some will be pasted on the departmental notice boards, some will not be.  If you are close to the campuses(nsukka or enugu), then you can go to your various departments to ask about it. I will also try to gather and share. The school might officially release the departmental cutoffs soon.  This period is the period you will see many false cutoffs, be careful of the one you believe. If you are not sure then you can call me.

I haven't replied some you yet because you started with hi and hello, no time to chat, if you send that, how will I know that you got a question, please go straight to the points or questions, no need to follow protocols.

What aspects have I not touched?  Ehmm. Still thinking.
Please if you wanna call me for any question, Biko i beg you, don't ask me questions I have answered on this post, please and please,  thankYou. I reply faster via calls than other mediums.

Nice evening ahead.

COMRADE ADA MONIQUE

ADVICE FOR 2016/2017 PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Hello everyone.
Most of you are anxious to know what's up with the admission list, cutoffs etc.

Please ehn, while you are waiting, start gathering your money. You got school fees, hostel fee( or off campus rent), and some other fees to pay.
Should I shock you?. You also got to gather 75,000naira approximately for LAPTOP.

Anyway let me give you guys a rundown of a rough sketch of what you should be gathering.
Note that this is just for first year. The school fee varies with faculties and levels.

These school fees below is actually for last session. It is just to give you an idea of the fees Unn may release next session .

FIRST YEAR SCHOOL FEES
1) PHYSICAL SCIENCES
First year= ₦58,950.00

2) SOCIAL SCIENCES
First year= ₦57,950.00 (Pub. Admin.: ₦62,950.00)

3) ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
First year= ₦60,450.00

4) AGRICULTURE
First year= ₦57,950.00

5) EDUCATION
First year= ₦57,950.00

6) ARTS
First year= ₦57,950.00

7) BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
First year= ₦58,950.00

8) VETERINARY MEDICINE
First year= ₦63,450.00

9) MEDICAL SCIENCES
First year= ₦64,450.00

10) DENTISTRY
First year= ₦64,450.00

11) HEALTH SCIENCES
First year= ₦64,450.00

12) BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
First year= ₦60,450.00

13) ENGINEERING
First year= ₦61,450.00

14) LAW
First year= ₦63,450.00

15) PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES
First year= ₦64,450.00

ACCEPTANCE FEE : 25,000naira

HOSTEL/ACCOMMODATION FEES FOR ALL
1 Male Hostel – ₦9,300.00( plus clearance fees, so plan for like 11,000)
2 Female Hostel – ₦11,800.00(plus clearance fees, so plan for like 13,000)
3 Nursing Mother (Single Occupant) – ₦35,000.00
4 Nursing Mother (Double Occupant) – ₦17,500.00

OFF CAMPUS
Single room( like from 30,000-50,000)
While
Self Contain (like from 60,000-130,000 or a little more)

So laptop : 75,000 + your school fees + hostel or off-campus fees = ???

Let me assume you are in faculty of arts, first year school fees : 57,950 + female hostel fee 11,800 + laptop 75,000 = 169,750

You can also pay the laptop fee in installment. 25,000 every session.

So plan an estimate of 200,000naira and more. Depending on what and what you are going for.

The way it was done last year, whether you had laptop or not, you will still pay for it. There is high probability that you guys are gonna pay for laptop, a miracle can happen though but till then.  Just set the laptop money ready so it won't come as a surprise.

God will provide O ☺
Success as you await the list.
