The Founder's Day Lecture which held on Wednesday, October
7th, 2015 at Princess Alexandra Auditorium, University of Nigeria, Nsukka saw
the convergence of dignitaries from different places for the 55th Founder's Day
Lecture of the University.
Top on the list of dignitaries at the event is the Governor
of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (a.k.a Gburugburu) who delivered the
lecture on the topic: Legislation as an Instrument for Social Justice in a
Growing Democracy.
Before the lecture however, the governor was hosted to an
interactive session by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. B. C.
Ozumba in his officer where he pleaded with the governor to provide new
secretariats for both campuses due to
pressures he has been receiving from the
presidents of the Union in both campuses. The governor promised to grant the
request and also to fix the bad road which has been a thorn in the flesh of the
Nsukka community, and consequently the university, as soon as the rainy season
is over.
The Vice Chancellor with the Governor and his entourage
proceeded to the venue of the 55th Founder's Day Lecture, Princess Alexandra
Auditorium where the Student Union Government of both Campuses inducted the
Governor as a Life Member of the Union,
honouring him with presents and their presence such that the Vice Chancellor
and other members of the university community could not hide their joy.
Later at his lodge, the Vice Chancellor commended the the
Student Union Government for their wonderful conducts and, at an instance
promised to provide buses for the Union in both campuses, a request the Union
has placed on his table for a while now.
As we all await the fulfillment of these promises, it is
important one commends the officials of the Union for their efforts to make a
lasting impression while their tenure lasts.
