FOBSSA DECIDES, 2015

Students of the Faculty of Biological Sciences gathered at the Faculty Lecture Theatre today, Saturday, August 1st, 2015 to decide those who takes up the administration of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Students Association. The manifesto and the accreditation started at about 11:30am and both ran simultaneously until about 2:00pm when the election started.
Agents of different contestants also served as observers as they were all made to sit directly opposite the ballot boxes to watch and ensure that no foul play was employed in the election by anyone. The voting was  smooth and peaceful as men of the University Security Department, Academic and Non-Academic Staff of the Faculty, representatives of the Student Affairs Department and Current Executives of the faculty were in place to coordinate and observe things. Worthy of note is the fact that the Dean of the Faculty coordinated the whole process of giving out ballot papers to students.
Some issues arose, however, when
some students who were said to have been sent for a wedding by a lecturer with the promise that they would vote as soon as they returned were not allowed to vote as promised. The Dean of the Faculty, however, said he told them to return before 3:00pm but they returned by past 4:00pm. According to him, the accreditation was meant to end at 3:00pm but, and that was why he gave them the time but since they could not make it back at the stipulated time, there was nothing he could do.
Collation of results and counting of votes started at about 4:30pm after which the results were typed, printed and signed by the relevant officials and observers. Below is a detail of the results for the different positions.
